Various events are held at the weekend, and plum blossoms are celebrated

Yushima Tenmangu Shrine (Yushima Tenjin) has been known as a plum spot since the Edo era. “Ume Matsuri” (Plum Festival) is held from February to March every year, and 400,000 people visit during the period. This year, it will be held from February 8th to March 8th, 2019.

There are 300 plum trees in the precincts, mainly white plums. Many plum varieties will be in full bloom at the flowering time of each.

During the festival, light-up is held every day, and various events are held on weekends and holidays.
