Oeshiki festival that hold on the anniversary of Saint Nichiren’s death

“Oeshiki Festival” will be held at Ikegami Honmonji Temple from October 11 to 13, 2019.
“Oeshiki Festival” is held at Nichiren temples throughout the country, but the festival to be held at Ikegami Honmonji Temple where Saint Nichiren passed away is the most prestigious.

The highlight is the “Mando rite”. People in the costumes of the firemen in the Edo era have “Matoi”, and they dance energetically according to the sound of drums and flutes.
Led by them, more than one hundred “Mando” decorated with paper cherry blossoms walk through 2 kilometers from Ikegami station area to the temple.
