Kameido Tenjin Shrine is otherwise known as the “Shitamachi no Tenjin-sama” (Tenjin shrine of old town).

The main building, the arched bridge, the cloister and so on were constructed to emulate the Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine in Kyushu.

This shrine is known for its beautiful flowers, plum (February – March) and wisteria (April – May) spectacularly color the precincts. “Ume Matsuri” (Plum Blossom Festival) and “Fuji Matsuri” (Wisteria Festival) will be held in each season.

To Kameido Tenjin Shrine, which is known for the divine favor of school success, a great number of students visit pray for success in the examination season.
