“Hyakudan Hinamatsuri”exhibit displays historic ornamental dolls
“Hyakudan Hinamatsuri” will be held at Hyakudan Kaidan in Hotel Gajoen Tokyo from January 24 to March 1, 2020.
Introducing different regions every year, the “Hyakudan Hinamatsuri” exhibit displays historic ornamental dolls from various prefectures across Japan. Since the first exhibition in 2010, over 600,000 visitors have been graced with the beautiful presence of hina dolls from over 20 regions.
“Hina dolls stories of Izumo, Inaba, Hagi” as the main theme, 2020 marks the 11th year of this event.
Including elegant “kokin-bina” (Edo-style and period Hina dolls) passed down through old families, miniature folk toys that fit in your hands, masterpiece Hina dolls of varying ages from the towns in Tottori, Shimane and Yamaguchi will assemble at the Registered tangible property, Hyakudan Kaidan.
Usually displayed only in their locality, be sure to enjoy the rare opportunity to visit with these wonderful Hina dolls.
The interior coordinator Tomiko Ishibashi will introduce doll decorations and table coordination that can be enjoyed at your home.
In this event, photos can be taken in all rooms except for some exhibits. In addition, there is a photo spot where you can put on a gorgeous kimono, so you can experience immersing yourself in the doll world.
