Various events are held at the weekend, and plum blossoms are celebrated
Yushima Tenmangu Shrine (Yushima Tenjin) has been known as a plum spot since the Edo era. “Ume Matsuri” (Plum Festival) is held from February to March every year, and 400,000 people visit during the period. This year, it will be held from February 8 to March 8, 2020.
There are 300 plum trees in the precincts, mainly white plums. Many plum varieties will be in full bloom at the flowering time of each.
During the event, plum trees will be lit up at night, and various events will be held mainly on weekends and holidays.
