“Madohana” is decorated in the hope that will be happy New Year

At ATELIER MUJI in the MUJI Yurakucho store, a simple and warm small cut paper that made by people living in the central part of China which puts the heart to celebrate New Year “Madohana” (Window Flower) exhibition will be held. “Madohana” is a small cut paper that decorate the window of a house.

Before celebrating the new year, women in rural areas represent animals, birds, flowers, and imaginary creatures, etc. in motif only with using scissors and paper, and decorate the window of each house with “Madohana”. It is an exhibition that introduces small folk arts.
