Showa Kinen Park is dotted with many autumn foliage spots
Showa Kinen Park boasting a large area of 180 hectare in total (about 40 times the size of Tokyo Dome) constructed at the site of the Tachikawa airfield. There are various leisure facilities in the large park, and various events are held.
It is very popular as a place to enjoy autumn leaves. Especially, rows of Ginkgo trees dyed yellow that along the Canal near Tachikawa Gate are very popular.
You can see colorful autumn leaves such as Ginkgo Tree Avenue beside the Sports Area and Maple trees in the Japanese garden.
Also, Metasequoia trees in the Children’s Forest and the “Giant Keyaki” in the Open Field make you feel winter signs and you can enjoy various autumn scenery in the park.
“Autumn Leaves Festival and Night Walk” will be held from November 3rd to 29th. During the festival, the Ginkgo Tree Avenue beside the Sports Area and the Maple trees in the Japanese Garden will be lit up in the evening.
